Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London on Wednesday and Thursday.  

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

Cool spaces

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs 

North and South Access Islington hubs are closed due to the hot weather. The Central Hub is open for urgent, in-person support, until 4pm today (Wednesday 24 June) but avoid travelling unless it is essential. 

You can still access our services online and you can call us on 020 7527 2000 if you need to speak to someone.

Third party network access

Third Parties who need access to Islington council networks and information systems to perform their services must have a signed contract or agreement in place and must comply with the council’s Information Governance and Cyber Security policies. A senior member of the Third Party needs to confirm compliance to our policies on behalf of their organization otherwise access will not be granted. The policies related to Cyber Security can be found at the bottom of this page.

What is a third party?

Third parties are defined as anyone not employed directly by Islington Council and fall into the following categories. These will include, but are not limited to:

  • Trusted Partners i.e. London Fire Brigade, NHS and Metropolitan Police
  • Outsourced support services
  • Staff working within the Local Health Community (e.g. Islington Clinical Commissioning Group)
  • Consultants, external agency staff and contractors (excluding REED agency appointments).

  • Third Party network accounts will be disabled if not logged into for 90 days
