Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London on Wednesday and Thursday.  

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

Cool spaces

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs 

North and South Access Islington hubs are closed due to the hot weather. The Central Hub is open for urgent, in-person support, until 4pm today (Wednesday 24 June) but avoid travelling unless it is essential. 

You can still access our services online and you can call us on 020 7527 2000 if you need to speak to someone.

Update 22 September 2015:

Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to the notices of intention that we issued on 14 August 2015 about the council’s plans to enter into contracts for the supply of electricity and gas. We will now be applying to the First Tier Tribunal (FTT) for dispensation from some of the consultation requirements relating to the second stage notice (notice of proposals). We will post updates relating to the FTT case on this webpage, including dates of the hearing.

Section 20 notices of intention have been sent out to all leaseholders about the council’s plans to enter into contracts for the supply of electricity and gas. If you would like more information about the council’s energy procurement strategy you can read the Executive Report.

The closing date for leaseholder observations was 16 September. Observations can be emailed to homeownership@islington.gov.uk or posted to us at Home Ownership Services, Islington Council, 222 Upper Street, Islington, London, N1 1XR.
