Site allocations direction of travel

This consultation has ended

Start date 12 February 2018
End date 26 March 2018

Islington Council is reviewing its Local Plan. Each Local Planning Authority is required to have an up-to-date Local Plan setting out the policies and proposals that will guide development in the area over the next 10 to 15 years.

The Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) is a key document within the Local Plan. Site allocations provide site specific policy for key sites to help secure specific land uses, meet identified development needs and ensure the infrastructure required to support growth is in place.

The Site Allocations Direction of Travel document identifies over 150 potential sites, including a number of existing allocated sites which remain appropriate. These sites are locations where new housing, workspaces, shops, open spaces, or leisure and community facilities could be provided over the next 15 years. We would like to hear your views on the sites and uses we are proposing.

The Site Allocations Direction of Travel document can be viewed in the useful documents at the end of the page and at local libraries

The consultation will run from 12 February until 26 March 2018. Representations can be submitted:

  • In writing: Planning Policy Team, Freepost RTXU-ETKU-KECB, Planning Policy, Islington Council, Town Hall, Upper Street, London N1 2UD

  • By email: planningpolicy@islington.gov.uk

The council will consider all responses received. Where appropriate, please cite evidence to support any comments. The information submitted, other than personal contact information, will be made publicly available with a summary published as part of the Local Plan evidence base.
