Caledonian Road safety improvements

This consultation has ended

Start date 12 February 2020
End date 04 March 2020

Islington Council is proposing to make safety improvements to assist pedestrians and road users on Caledonian Road near the junction with Offord Road.

We are seeking your views on the Council’s proposals to improve the junction arrangement. Our aim is to provide a safer junction for road users and cyclists and to improve the public realm.

The proposal includes:

  • Widening the central island at the existing Zebra crossing outside property no. 343 Caledonian Road. The existing yellow flashing beacons and tactile paving will remain at the same location.
  • Extend the southbound cycle lane up to the Zebra crossing point.
  • Refresh existing road markings in  the vicinity of the Zebra crossing.

The consultation document is available to read here. Please undertake our online consultation here.

For further information please contact Joyce Cheng on 020 7527 2000. Please submit your comments and views by 4th March 2020.
