Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

Cool spaces

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs

North and South Access Islington hubs are closed due to the hot weather. The Central Hub is open for urgent, in-person support, until 4pm today (Wednesday 24 June) but avoid travelling unless it is essential.

You can still access our services online and you can call us on 020 7527 2000 if you need to speak to someone.

Resident roamer scheme

The resident roamer scheme lets resident permit holders to park in resident bays in any controlled parking zone between 11am and 3pm, Monday to Saturday

The resident roamer scheme is for Islington resident parking permit holders only.

You can park in:

  • resident bays only
  • any controlled parking zone in the borough

You can use these bays Monday to Saturday, 11am to 3pm

The scheme does not operate when additional match day controls parking restrictions are in place.

You cannot park in pay by phone bays and business permit holder bays with your resident parking permit.

View our Controlled Parking Zone map to see where these areas are.

Moving traffic restrictions

The resident roamer scheme is only for parking in Islington. It does not let you drive anywhere you want in the borough.

For example, if you want to park within a Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) zone you will need to pay attention to the signs and enter and exit the zone in the right way just like any other driver.

Estate parking

Estate parking permits do not come with the resident roamer benefit.

Match days

On match days, the resident roamer scheme does not work for some controlled parking zones at specific times. View a match day sign for details.
