Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

Cool spaces

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs

North and South Access Islington hubs are closed due to the hot weather. The Central Hub is open for urgent, in-person support, until 4pm today (Wednesday 24 June) but avoid travelling unless it is essential.

You can still access our services online and you can call us on 020 7527 2000 if you need to speak to someone.

Challenge a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN)

See images of the alleged parking offence and find out the next steps if you disagree with a Penalty Charge Notice.

If you think your penalty charge notice (PCN) was a mistake, wrong or unfair, you can challenge the PCN.

Do not pay the PCN if you want to challenge it.

What you need to do

  • View the evidence before you challenge the PCN.
  • If your vehicle has been removed, you must pay the car pound for its release before challenging the PCN.
  • If you have received a Charge Certificate or an Order for Recovery, you can't challenge ('make a representation').

How to challenge a PCN

  1. Click 'challenge a PCN' and enter your vehicle registration and PCN number.
  2. Do not press 'pay PCN'. Go to the top of the page where it says 'make a representation'.
  3. Fill in your details and reason for challenging the PCN.

Making a 'representation' is how you tell us why you think the PCN is wrong.

We recommend writing your case in a Word document before clicking 'make a representation' at the top of the screen in case the form gets closed before you finish and submit it. This could be because of a time out on the form or internet drop out.

You can paste your words into the form when you're ready to submit.

Challenge a PCN

If you can't use the PCN website, you can challenge or make representations by post.

Postal appeals can be sent to:

Islington Parking Services
PO Box 384
Sheffield
S98 1TA

You can find out more about challenges, representations and the appeals process on the London Tribunals website.

What happens next

When you have sent your challenge, the PCN team will read it and consider your case. Your case will be put on hold until you've got a decision from us.
