Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

Cool spaces

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs

North and South Access Islington hubs are closed due to the hot weather. The Central Hub is open for urgent, in-person support, until 4pm today (Wednesday 24 June) but avoid travelling unless it is essential.

Report parking fraud

Help combat fraudulent use of parking permits, Blue Badges, and penalty notice appeals scams.

Always report crimes to the police, such as stolen vehicles, accidents and collisions, dangerous driving, and burglaries.

What is parking fraud

We want to hear about parking fraud which includes:

  • Using fake, illegally modified, or stolen permits and Blue Badges
  • Someone other than the permit holder using a permit or Blue Badge
  • Using permits and Blue Badges for anything other than their intended purposes
  • Giving false information when applying for parking vouchers, permits, and Blue Badges
  • Giving false information or illegally modified supporting documents when challenging a penalty charge notice (PCN)
  • Removing clamps from vehicles and criminal damage to parking infrastructure
  • Any other misuse of parking permits

How to report parking fraud

You will need to give information about:

  • the type of fraud you think they’re committing
  • the date and location of the incident
  • a description of the fraud

We’ll ask you to give as much information as you can about the person and vehicle you’re reporting, such as:

  • their name

  • the make and model of their vehicle
  • their vehicle registration number

You can make a report anonymously. You do not have to give your name or contact details unless you want to.

What happens after you report parking fraud

We take all reports of parking fraud seriously and will carry out an investigation.

Most cases are criminal and take a long time to resolve. So, we can't share details of ongoing investigations with you.

Depending on the case, we might take enforcement action or invite suspects for an interview under caution. Enforcement actions can include issuing PCNs, clamping, or removing vehicles.

We will then decide to either prosecute them or take other action such as issuing a caution.
