Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London on Wednesday and Thursday.  

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

Cool spaces

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs 

North and South Access Islington hubs are closed due to the hot weather. The Central Hub is open for urgent, in-person support, until 4pm today (Wednesday 24 June) but avoid travelling unless it is essential. 

You can still access our services online and you can call us on 020 7527 2000 if you need to speak to someone.

Opening and closing times of parks

Opening times

All parks with gates open by 8am daily. All of our parks are open 365 days a year (including Christmas and New Year's Day).

Closing times 

Closing times vary throughout the year, but we usually start locking at sunset. As there are a number of parks to lock it can take some time to lock them all. You can find when we start locking our parks each month below:

  • January - 5pm
  • February - 6pm
  • March (GMT*) - 6pm
  • March (BST*) - 8pm
  • April - 8pm
  • May - 9pm
  • June - 9pm
  • July - 9pm
  • August 9pm
  • September 8pm
  • October (BST*) - 7pm
  • October (GMT*) - 5pm
  • November - 5pm
  • December - 5pm

*GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) - times stated are valid until the clocks go forward one hour in March and from when the clocks go back one hour in October.

*BST (British Summer Time) - times stated are valid from when the clocks go forward one hour in March and until the clocks go back one hour in October.
