Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

Cool spaces

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs

North and South Access Islington hubs are closed due to the hot weather. The Central Hub is open for urgent, in-person support, until 4pm today (Wednesday 24 June) but avoid travelling unless it is essential.

You can still access our services online and you can call us on 020 7527 2000 if you need to speak to someone.

Freedom of Information request

Instead of only releasing information on a 'need to know' basis, public authorities are required to provide any information requested, unless there is a very good reason not to (exempt information).

Information we have already published

Before making a Freedom of Information (FOI) request, check if the information you're looking for is already available:

  • Publication scheme: Find information that is often requested, including information about the council’s structure, finances and policies.
  • Freedom of Information responses: We publish answers to previous FOI requests in order of when they were requested.

Information that we do not have

These are areas that we do not have information about. Instead, contact the organisations that are reponsible for those areas.

  • ULEZ and red routes - Transport for London (TfL)
  • Speeding fines - Metropolitan Police
  • Information about schools, for example bullying incidents, events hosted at the school, school closures, school spending (including agency spending), school’s policies and procedures, allegations made against staff and other disputes (contact the relevant school directly)

Information that we do not publish

We do not disclose specific IT security information or confirm the existence of cyber-attacks to prevent potential exploitation by criminals. We apply exemptions under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to withhold such information.

See our full exemption notice and public interest test (PDF).
