Stay safe in very hot weather

Very hot weather is expected for the next few days. A red heat-health alert (the highest level) is in place for London on Wednesday and Thursday.  

Hot weather can be dangerous and can cause serious illness. Stay safe and look out for others who may be particularly vulnerable to the heat. Read advice on GOV.UK

Cool spaces

There are local cool spaces that are free and open to everyone. Visit them to rest, drink water and stay cool. Find a cool space near you

Access Islington hubs 

North and South Access Islington hubs are closed due to the hot weather. The Central Hub is open for urgent, in-person support, until 4pm today (Wednesday 24 June) but avoid travelling unless it is essential. 

You can still access our services online and you can call us on 020 7527 2000 if you need to speak to someone.

Licence applications, renewals, variations and transfers

We have determined there is a sufficient number of sex establishments operating in Islington. However, we will consider each application on its merit.

We send current licence holders invoices for renewal fees and the required renewal application forms. If you are looking to transfer or make a variation to a licence, please contact the sex establishment licensing team.

Apply

Applicants need to send us:

  • a completed application form
  • the correct application fee - we will email the payment link. We no longer accept cash or cheques. For renewals, we will invoice the licence holder.
  • a floor plan, drawn to scale showing the layout of the premises (new applications only)
  • a location plan (1:1250) showing the location of the premises (new applications only)
  • two passport size photos of the applicant where the applicant is an individual rather than a limited company
  • two passport size photos of the manager. 

Please note, photos will only be required if there has been a change of applicant or manager since the last application.

You must also send copies of all application documents to the police, fire brigade and building control. We will do this for you if you make the application via email.
