The Children and Social Work Act 2017 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 has removed the requirement for Local Authorities to establish Local Safeguarding Children Boards and replaced with new local multi-agency safeguarding arrangements. Under the new legislation, the three statutory safeguarding partners – Local Authority, Police and Integrated Care Board (Health) – must make arrangements to work together, along with the relevant agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in their area.
